Ever since dyeing my hair purple I have become a little braver with my makeup. I have been practising that dreaded winged liner and more importantly I went and bought a lipstick to match my hair! I mean it would have been rude not to right?
My weapon of choice was Mac Heroine lipliner and lipstick. When wearing a lip this bright I have to prep my lips with a lipliner first. Possibly just a force of habit, but it’s neater and keeps my lips looking fresh for a lot longer.
Mac lipliners are my favourite formula and believe me I have tried a LOT of lipliners. They were definitely my obsession of 2015… I often wear them all over the lips as a lipstick with a bit of lip balm. Heroine is a bright purple shade and paired with the matching lipstick, they pack a real punch of kick ass purple colour. What I like about the lipliner is that it gives you the option of a more toned down look by simply using a light hand and wearing it on its on. This will give you a wash of purple, for when you’re not feeling particularly kick ass.
Here is Mac Heroine in all its glory. A bright purple matte lipstick – definitely not one for the faint hearted. Before my recent hair transformation, I was all for a bright lip but tended to lean towards red and pink tones. Purple just seemed a bit too much for me… Not anymore! I now welcome Heroine into my life with open arms. I’m fairly new to Mac matte lipsticks, usually sticking to the cremesheen finish. However, since wearing Chilli I have been pleasantly surprised to find out that matte lipsticks don’t actually dry out my lips. This has opened a whole new world of lipsticks to me (my bank account is not thanking me for this discovery). A bold matte lip is now my new obsession.
What lip combinations have you been obsessed with?
What other matte lipsticks do I need in my life?
